Volunteer alumni of Camp Nubar and the New York Summer Intern Program, along with AGBU's growing network of Young Professionals have formed a committee to administer the event. The weekend is being designed to applaud the organization's continuing commitment and inspiration to young Armenians.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for young Armenians from all over the world to come together and celebrate an important event in our history," says Kimberly Bardakian, Young Professionals of Northern California Chair and a West Coast liaison to the anniversary committee.
Not only will the weekend foster friendships, but also invite participants to network professionally amongst their international peers.
"This unparalleled effort will rekindle old friendships and get the new generation of alumni, especially from Camp Nubar, excited and involved in giving back to the AGBU," says committee member Sarah Partin-Setrakian, an alumnus of both Camp Nubar and the New York Summer Intern Program.
The event is already garnering enthusiasm from Armenians everywhere. "I can't wait to book my ticket--this is an event not to be missed," says Arthur Bohdjalian of Vienna, a European liaison, "It will be wonderful to exchange ideas and develop an international network--particularly for those of us who live in small Armenian communities."
Designed to reflect the cosmopolitan nature of a new generation, the organizing committee has focused its efforts to present a weekend as unique as the city of New York.
The highlight of the weekend will be a Gala showcasing diverse talented performers from throughout the Diaspora. As the anticipation builds, everyone is impatiently awaiting the summer's festivities to celebrate and prepare the way for a new generation eager to take on the future.
