April is a special month for Armenians as we commemorate the Armenian Genocide and look forward to our bright future filled with promise. This month, AGBU groups take part in dozens of local events to commemorate April 24; contact your local chapter for more information.

Last month, AGBU President Berge Setrakian visited Armenia with AGBU Central Board members and met with the country's leaders, including President Sargsian. During his trip, he traveled to the Yerevan suburb of Nubarashen for the opening of the new sports and cultural center jointly funded by AGBU and the World Bank.

Also in March, the AGBU Central Board of Directors convened in Paris for their quarterly meeting and witnessed firsthand the new cultural vitality that continues to galvanize European Armenians.

In other news, AGBU is appealing to its members to donate to the Italian Earthquake Relief Fund, which will help those affected by the devastating central Italian earthquake earlier this month..
