This month, we bring you more news than ever, including the latest about Armenia's burgeoning scouting movement, the success of the first-ever Montreal walk-a-thon, a book signing in Cairo, and YP events in Paris & Yerevan.
Next month, Armenian youth from all across America will converge in San Francisco for the annual Winter Gala (Feb. 20-22) organized by the Young Professionals of Northern California. Meanwhile, in Southern California, the Generation Next Mentorship Program is celebrating its 10th anniversary with a gala event (Feb. 27), which will honor System of a Down's Shavo Odadjian and "Screamers" director Carla Garapedian.
In March, the Armenian Assembly of America is hosting its National Advocacy Conference & Banquet in Washington, DC (Mar. 1-3). Registration for this event, which is co-sponsored by AGBU, ends Feb. 2.
And, it's official…Chicago will be the FOCUS 2009 host city (Jul. 16-19) so stay tuned for details. |

Scout Movement Begins in Armenia
The scouting movement has its unique place among the activities of AGBU. The first AGBU scout troops were formed in Lebanon, Syria and Egypt in the 1940s and, since then, new groups have formed around the world. This year, and for the first time, AGBU initiated a scout troop in Armenia.
