This week, AGBUs 85th General Assembly is set to convene in Aleppo, a city that has a long and vibrant Armenian history. For the occasion, the local District Committee and Chapter have prepared a number of events to welcome hundreds of guests from dozens of countries.

While AGBU celebrates the last two years in Aleppo, Chapters elsewhere marked their own accomplishments, including Montreal toasting its 50th Anniversary earlier this year and Hye Geen completing its Third Annual Conference on the Status of Armenian Communities in the U.S. (they are already welcoming submissions for the 2009 conference).

AGBU-HAIK Frankfurt, Germany Office Opens


On September 12, 2008, German Armenians and their supporters from across Europe attended an AGBU-HAIK Gala concert and dinner at the Hanau Schloss Philippsruhe castle near Frankfurt, Germany. Close to 200 people attended the launch event that will formally mark the expansion of the world's largest Armenian non-profit organization into the most populous country in the European Union and the continuing partnership of AGBU and HAIK.
