The website for this summer's AGBU World Games has been launched. Hundreds of athletes are already booking their plane tickets to Montevideo, Uruguay to take part in the fun, and registration forms are available online.


Armenia Youth Programs Coordinator, Herminé Duzian, continues to tour the world to promote the organization's summer menu of youth programs. After a successful trip to North America, she's now off to Egypt, Lebanon and Syria to continue spreading word and building the excitement. For those in the New York area, there will also be a special Manhattan presentation on AGBU's summer opportunities in Armenia for students on March 19. For those young at heart, it is worth noting that Alexandria (Egypt) will be organizing an all-ages trip to Yerevan from September 17-25.


In other news, the Manoogian Demirdjian School had an exciting Spirit Week last month and all the photos are online, YP Sydney is kicking off with their first-ever event later this month, and if you are curious about programs in the works, Yervant Zorian spoke in Aleppo about the new virtual school created by AGBU. . .stay tuned for more details.

AGBU Sponsors Next Generation of Chess Champions in Armenia


The Armenian General Benevolent Union (AGBU) has made a donation of $20,000 USD in support of the Second Republican Interschool Chess Championship project. This project is the initiative of the Armenian Chess Federation under the auspices of the Republic of Armenia's Ministry of Education and Science. AGBU enjoys the status of Vice President of the Championship's organizing committee.
