Spanning the breadth of the Armenian world has always been AGBU's strength, and this month we recognize projects that are building bridges and making the world a smaller place. In Germany, the Garbis Papazian prize, given to support non-Armenians who contribute to the propagation of Armenian causes, was awarded to German scholar Wolfgang Gust. In New York, NYSEC and YPGNY hosted a series of fundraisers for the organization's work in Armenia and Karabakh. While in Yerevan, AGBU funded a three-volume series of Contemporary Armenian Literature for English-language readers. For college students eager to experience the magic of Armenia first hand, the Yerevan Summer Intern Program is still accepting applications for its inaugural season. For more info, email ysip@agbu.org or download an application--deadline is March 15. This month, AGBU E-Newsletter turned one. In only a year, over 3,000 individuals (and growing) now receive the electronic publication, which keeps them abreast of what’s new with AGBU. Thank you for helping us make the E-Newsletter a success! |
